Video Assist

This person is in charge of setting up video monitors for all crew who need to see the image that the camera is capturing, such as the Director, Script & Continuity Supervisor, Hair, and Makeup, or client. They may also be responsible for playing back recordings and in charge of the Video Village.

Video frame

A single frame (still image), taken from the video. Traditionally one second of footage is made of 25 frames. Incredibly, researchers have developed a camera that can shoot at 4.4 trillion frames per second. That’s fast.

Video Village

The area in which monitors and playback are set up for the Director and other production personnel.

Videotape Record (VTR)

Device for recording and playing back videotapes.
